The edits

Two Damon Salvatore edits, one new lead

Pick one in the generator. Every cut, location and extra stays the same; only the lead becomes the person in your photo. These examples were made from a single photo.

The Damon edit

The original hard-cut fan edit: a smirk in a dark room, a night walk, the vampire face, a convertible and a cold stare to close.

  1. 0:00–0:07A warm, dark room: a slow, cocky smirk and a sly glance away
  2. 0:07–0:09Night and white mist: a walk between dark figures
  3. 0:09–0:10Close-up: the vampire face, red eyes and veins
  4. 0:10–0:12A porch in daylight, then a blue convertible in the sun
  5. 0:12–0:15A kitchen grin, then a still stare in a dim bedroom
  6. 0:15–0:17Brick-wall close-ups: a cold look straight into the lens
Example · 20s

Replace my namesake

The remake that started the trend: walk into a white church, take the wheel of a convertible, wave through a night party.

  1. 0:00–0:04A bright church: the lead walks in and the pews turn
  2. 0:04–0:11Down the aisle into a slow, confident smile
  3. 0:11–0:14Behind the wheel: a smirk and one raised eyebrow
  4. 0:14–0:17Under sunlit trees, then through a night party
  5. 0:17–0:20A kitchen: one smoldering look over the shoulder

Examples are real outputs of the generator: the lead of each fan edit replaced by the person from one uploaded photo, with the edit's soundtrack.

The trend

What is Damon Salvatore AI?

Damon Salvatore is the leather-jacketed, permanently smirking vampire of The Vampire Diaries. Fans have cut his best looks into short edits for years: a grin in a dark room, a walk out of the fog, the veins and the red eyes, a convertible in the sun.

In 2026 those edits turned into a face swap trend. People started posting themselves in his place, often under the line "replace my namesake with me", and the remakes travelled as fast as the original.

Damon Salvatore AI makes your version from a single photo. An image model first turns your picture into a clean studio portrait, then Seedance re-films the edit you picked with that person as the lead, and the edit's own soundtrack goes back on top.

Photo tips

Photos that make a convincing Damon

Most of the edit is close-ups, so the face carries it. A minute spent picking the right photo pays off.

Works best

  • Facing the camera, both eyes visible
  • Even daylight or soft indoor light
  • Upper body or full body, face in sharp focus
  • You alone, or clearly the biggest face

Avoid

  • Sunglasses, masks or hands over the face
  • Heavy filters, stickers or beauty effects
  • Tiny faces in a wide group shot
  • Photos of celebrities or film characters
